Today is American Auto Movers’ birthday and we are really excited about our coming up Big 5 as we have some very exciting things planned.  =)

For all of you that have been following our blog, I want to apologize we have been spending the last couple of months here streamlining our site and adding information to our site as you can see by going through the american auto movers sitemap we added some new pages and removed some pages that weren’t very relevant to our industry or helpful to our customers.  We have also been working on some advancements to make the quote process more exact and efficient which has been taking a little longer than expected.  All the same, we are moving right along and we will keep you posted as they come to be launched on the site.  We are always willing to here ideas to help so feel free to email our contact us page.

A recent survey done showed that when people are looking to have a car transport them reliably that Honda came out as the leader.  Over the years, Honda has worked hard to improve their vehicles reliability, performance and fuel economy.  However, domestic competitor, Ford has been working on those exact same points and are showing to be ever increasing their market share for this reason.  Ford also has the advantage of not having to arrange car shipping as their vehicles are made here.  Overseas Honda is actually experiencing some difficulty in his production plants in China.  They had a walkout because they felt they were being underpaid.  I am sure this will get resolved, but is nice to see domestically Americans are feeling more confident with our car manufacturers.

Is it true that as my car ages it gets less and less fuel economy?

This is a harder question to accurately answer because it depends on how you maintain your car.  If you continually do the proper maintenance on your vehicle you will generally experience the same level of fuel economy as when you purchased the car new.  Any automobile without regular tune-ups will experience a drop in mpg.  The reason behind this is that the engine will have to work harder in order to achieve the same results as one that is properly maintained.  So by taking care of your vehicle you will not only earn that money back in fuel economy, but you may also prevent from being broken down on the side of the road!

While there are many review sites customers can use when researching a company, few are legitimate enough that you can count on the information.  Often “review sites” can be altered by the staff of the company writing great reviews about them or competitors writing horrible reviews about them.  However, sites like the Better Business Bureau give consumers an option to see verified complaints from other consumers.  While they will not see any glowing reviews about the car transport company, the lack of complaints or volume in some cases, will give you an idea of what your experience will be like.  You can search companies under the “check out a business or charity” section of the website and search by company name, phone number, web address among other options.

We know that it is cheaper to drive your car from Massachusetts to Florida every year, just like it is cheaper to wash your car vs. having it professionally done.  However, year after year, many customers choose to be environmentally aware and hire a car transport company to do the move for them.  More and more, people are becoming aware of the environment and the effects their driving has to it.  For many of our snow birds, they understand that by using an auto transport company they are reducing their carbon footprint and helping to leave behind a healthy planet for their family, similar to what they experienced in their youth.  We commend those individuals who care enough about the environment to use this service.

Ferrari has been developing ways to make some of the most high performance sports cars green.  With many of the major car manufacturers increasing the sales of their vehicles using green technology, Ferrari doesn’t want to lag too far behind.  While at this time it is not clear exactly what will happen there are several rumors floating around.  One of the rumors is they will incorporate their KERS system into their street cars.  This was a technology originally designed for their Formula 1 team for the 2009 season.  This system allows cars a temporarily significant boost in power while maintaining a reasonably sized engine.  It is also suspected that they will be fitting the cars to run on biofuel. It is going to be interesting for those lucky few who have the income to buy a car like that to know they can enjoy the car and horsepower while keeping the planet green.
